Since May 2024, we have been offering our guests new reusable cups and bowls in all canteens and cafeterias as part of the restructuring of our reusable range.
How does the reusable system work?
The reusable offer is available in all Studierendenwerk catering facilities at the checkout counter for a deposit price:
- Reusable cup including lid: €2.00 deposit
- Reusable bowl including lid: €5.00 deposit
You can simply pick up your reusable crockery at the checkout counter for a deposit and then have it filled at the food counter or take the cup to the coffee machine.
Don't want to queue twice at the checkout counter?
Then you can of course also have your food served normally at the food counter, purchase a reusable bowl at the checkout counter and simply pour your food into the bowl yourself.
If you have already purchased a reusable bowl, you can of course use your bowl again - it is not absolutely necessary to exchange the reusable bowl. For reasons of hygiene, however, the bowl should only be reused if it has been cleaned. The same applies to reusable cups.
Return or exchange
The return and exchange of used cups and bowls for fresh reusable cups and bowls also takes place at the checkout counter of our catering facilities.
Important: The reusable cups and bowls can only be handed out and taken back with lids!
Furthermore, only reusable containers that are in usable condition (not damaged, moldy or similar) can be taken back / exchanged.
Further information on reusable products
We purchase our cups and bowls from the company Crafting Future.
They are made of polypropylene (PP) plastic, which is safe in contact with food, extremely resistant and easy to recycle.
The reusable bowls (except the lids) are microwave-safe and can be heated for a maximum of 2.5 minutes at up to 600 watts. The cups and bowls are also dishwasher-safe.
