auto-LOAD
With auto-LOAD, the Studierendenwerk Würzburg offers an additional service that allows you to automatically recharge your chip card at a canteen or cafeteria checkout if your credit falls below a certain value. You determine this minimum and the amount of the top-up yourself within a predefined framework.
Thanks to auto-LOAD, you no longer need to worry about whether there is enough money left on your chip card. All you have to do is give the Studierendenwerk Würzburg a SEPA direct debit mandate for your current account to debit the top-up amounts from your account. Participation in auto-LOAD is voluntary.
- The cashless recharging of the chip card is generally possible at all Studierendenwerk Würzburg catering checkouts. As the process is still being developed, auto-LOAD recharges are currently limited to Würzburg and Bamberg.
- A recharge via auto-LOAD works in conjunction with a purchase at a Studierendenwerk cash register - at the moment you fall below your personal minimum value limit. If you agree to the recharge during the checkout process, you will receive a receipt upon request. If you decline, your balance will remain unchanged.
- For security reasons, automatic recharging at the checkouts is only possible once a day.
If you do not have sufficient credit on your current account and a chargeback is made, the payment function on your chip card will be blocked. If a direct debit is returned due to insufficient funds in your account or incorrect bank details, you will be charged a fee of 6 euros. Payment arrears can be paid at a service point of the Studierendenwerk or at the cash desks of the catering facilities. Your card will then be unblocked and can then be used to its full extent. Please do not transfer the amount again.
The one-time registration takes place at the service points at your location. Please bring your debit card and chip card with you. For the SEPA direct debit procedure, you will also need a valid official photo ID for identity verification and proof of your address so that we can write to you if your direct debit is not honored.
- The auto-LOAD minimum balance is the amount of money below which you will be asked at the checkout whether you would like to top up. The auto-LOAD minimum balance is 10 euros, but you can set a higher amount during the registration process.
- The auto-LOAD top-up amount is the amount that is credited to your chip card as credit when you top up and is debited from your account by direct debit. Before the actual top-up, you will be asked at the checkout whether you agree to the top-up. You also determine this amount yourself during the registration process. The auto-LOAD top-up amount can be between 10 euros and 50 euros.
- If you lose your chip card, you can have it blocked at the Studierendenwerk Service Point by presenting your bank details. It is best to bring your girocard/EC card with you. Participation in the auto-LOAD procedure is no longer possible with a blocked chip card until the block is lifted. If you find your chip card again or have received a new one, you must contact the Service Point again.
- If you have lost your Girocard/EC card, you should contact your bank immediately.
- Your card balance can only be refunded after a waiting period of around two weeks. The quickest procedure is therefore to "eat the card empty". If you still want to have your credit paid out, for example because the card is defective, you must fill out the credit refund form and hand it in at a Studierendenwerk service point. The credit will then be transferred to your bank account.
- Please note that credit cannot be refunded for lost cards.
Of course, Studierendenwerk Würzburg does not store any data such as name, date of birth or address on the chip card. The card's wallet is not personalized. Only the stored data from the direct debit authorization, which is required for the revaluation process, is linked to the chip card. No further data is recorded electronically by Studierendenwerk Würzburg. The General Data Protection Regulation is taken into account. You will be informed of this during the registration process.
