The 29th BAföG Amendment Act is currently undergoing parliamentary consultation. The bill does not provide for an increase in BAföG benefit rates. Other benefits have been significantly increased and are regularly adjusted - the BAföG benefit rates have not. This is illustrated by the DSW infographic. An increase in the requirement rates in the fall would only be fair and absolutely necessary!
